Review of PC Magazine

I am really like the way this app interfaces with My iPad. I give 5 stars. Keep up with the great work your doing.

Great magazine

Great just cant always swipe to the page

What gives?

"November issue is ready for download" but it wouldnt because I need to an updated version of the app which does not exist in the App Store! What a rip off. This is nuts. This is hard to believe that PC Mag publishes an issue that needs an updated app but they dont update the app. I deleted the app and reinstalled but that does not work. Going to call the App Store and see if they would refund my money. Version 2 does not have any of my purchased issues, iTunes keeps saying it takes few minutes to restore but it has far more than minutes. PC mag app is a disaster

Newest version does not work

Im having the same issues as others. After the new version was downloaded, my library was empty. It keeps asking me to subscribe (I am a subscriber through iTunes) and it says it may take a while to restore purchases, but never does. Please fix this!

LOL. Even after receiving detailed instruction...

This must be a joke or something. First of all you need to create a new account based on an email which may still belong to an existing subscriber or not. And then you need to reset the password you just created in order to login with the new password you just received on the email mentioned above. Are you kidding? Are you serious?

Please bring back the old interface

Ive just downloaded the new update and I hate it. Its very confusing and hard to find what you want. Theres no more scrolling down to read an article. You have to choose articles from a menu and read then in sequence. Dont like it a bit.

Just Dont Bother

This app just doesnt work. It asks me to create an account and then tells me my username and password are invalid when I try to log in. I guess they had to pay Zinio, which worked fine too big a cut.

Dont buy a subscription

Cant access anything after signing up for a subscription. Current app keeps requiring an upgrade and nothing happens. Useless ripoff so save yourself a hassle and some cash and dont subscribe

The new app does not work

So, replacing an app that worked with one that does not work must have been an executive decision, because, you know, it reduced expenses and made the bottom line look better. But, wait until the next quarter when most of the subscribers have fled. Why would they leave? Simple; this app just does not work as it is impossible to sign in and download paid for content. So far, no help from PC Mag support either. John Dvorak may have some appropriate pithy commentary.

Why bother?

It doesnt work. I tried resetting my password twice ... and nothing ... I dont even get an email to reset. Back to Zinio - which works just fine.

What Is The Purpose?

The app doesnt work. You would think that a company devoted to all things PC would make sure their app works. I was receiving my PC Mag through Zinio before (forced to when PC stopped publishing a physical mag), which only merited one star at best. Now I cant get the mag on Zinio and no matter how many times I try to log into this one, it says the e mail and password dont match. It lets me change passwords and then still wont recognize the login and password. So, I have paid for something I cant access? I am about to contact my credit card company to cancel my subscription. What a waste of my time.

Terrible upgrade

Why would you have come out with a far more difficult to use, very low tech digital subscription iPad app?

Total crap

Usually updates improve an app but this is horrible! While a tablet novice may find it easier to swipe one page at a time, anyone with experience is going to be frustrated with the limitations. Ive been a PC Magazine subscriber since we used to think a 10mb hard drive was the pinnacle of storage capabilities, and we were wowed by the upgrade of the 8086 chip. This is a huge backward step! Dump this version and go back to the previous one until you can make an actual improvement!

Upgraded to useless

Congratulations to the programmers who upgraded a fine-working product to a piece of useless nonfunctional trash.

Really

Is this really PC Magazine? Because if it is you should be embarrassed. I also enjoyed the "print" magazine until they went digital. Then onto Zinio which I now think was great after trying to use this terrible iOS app. A tech based mag with a near useless app. Who would have thought? Update soon or Im canceling my subscription!

Non-functional

There are 15 reviews stating that it does not work, and much to my surprise, it absolutely does not.

It works great!

I did have an issue with the issues not working, but I contacted their customer service by going into settings in the app, and they resolved it for me right away. I realized I used my iTunes account and not my digital subscription login. I used it, and it worked. I used my iTunes account to restore purchases, and it worked.

Digital year for me.

This app is amazing. Being the new year i was not going anything stop me from getting into the digital age. First, I went to Settings > Customer Support I was emailed back in a prompt manner. It turns out I was not an iTunes subscriber, I had bought my subscription on the PCmagazine website. I was confused at first by the iTunes Subscriber or Digital Subscriber option. I needed to login as a Digital Subscriber based on how I purchased my subscription. I guess i could have figured this out on my own, oh well next time. That being said, I am now amazed at how easy it is to read the magazine on my phone or ipad and will be getting more apps like this.

Update to version 2 is a step back for the app

This update to version 2 is a step back for the app and PC Magazine. Its like a step back to 1990s tech. When opening the PC Mag app before the update, it would remember where I stopped reading and take me right back to it. Now it defaults to the library and a constant nag to subscribe when Ive been subscribing for years to the electronic version. No more scrolling an article, but only swiping to the next page. No easy way to advance to the next article if you dont want to read the current one. This update is not an upgrade but a severe downgrade.
